Many Bollywood aficionados have the impression that the tinsel town divas are just a bunch of dolls with pretty faces for whom life’s a bed of roses. Bollywood celebs though of course make the most of a jet-set life and manage to stay in the limelight, but have to slog and learn a lot to attain the exalted status they enjoy. To keep their audience entertained and their movies perform well at box-office, celebs have to go out of way to acquire new talents from cycling to swimming, trekking to dancing and at times even harder. However, there are numerous Bollywood luminaries who excel in other performing or applied arts that many of their fans might not be aware of. Mostly owing to their knack since childhood or may be embedded in their genes.

Some are so brilliant at other skills that they could had made an alternate career, if their acting vocation wouldn’t had paid off:

1. Vidya Balan, Actor Or Poet?!

Vidya Balan has cemented her name in the chronicles of Bollywood by demonstrating her acting prowess in movies like ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, ‘Kahaani’ and ‘The Dirty Picture’. However, not many of her acolytes maybe aware that she has a flair for creative writing and penning verses, and yes, she excels in mimicry as well.

2. Priyanka Chopra, Singing Icon Or Acting Sensation?

Very few actresses in tinsel town have attained the international stature that Priyanka Chopra has. She has ample of firsts up her sleeve, being the first Indian female lead to launch her international album singing alongside sensational Akon, being the first Asian to bag People’s Choice Award and first to be awarded in all 5 actor (female) categories at Filmfare Awards. She was recently roped in for a Canadian TV show ‘Quantico’ where she bagged an important role and delivered even a more stellar performance. She became popular almost overnight with her memorable performance in the movie ‘Friends’ and went on to prove her mettle time and again in acting. Did you know this yesteryears diva is also a trained classical singer and a Kathak dancer? She never misses her ritual of 3-4 hours of riyaaz every morning! Trained in classical vocal for over six years, Juhi Chawla singing talent came to fore with her talent at a show given in honour of Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure at the Guri Purnima festival.

5. Kangana Ranaut, On-Screen Challenging Roles Vs Off-Screen Culinary Talent

Coming from an esteemed director like Vikas Bahl when he compared the actress’s cooking vs acting talent, sure holds credibility for her hidden knack. He vouched for Kangana’s culinary skills to be a strong contender against her acting skills! The Queen protagonist whipped up good desi meal in the city of love, for the entire crew when they were craving Indian food after being in Paris for over a month. She often hosts dinner at home for family, friends and colleagues, cooking international to Indian meals and everything in between.
