The big night of the year for all the VS fans and loyalists was very recently. If you have not yet caught the glimpses of this one, then let me tell you, you are missing out, on one of the biggest runway celebrations of the American lingerie brand.

The Victoria Secrets Fashion Show, 2016 was a melange of Fashion, Fantasy and Entertainment.

At, what is known to be the home of fashion show and lingerie, the Grand Palais in Paris, 51 of the world’s top models donning 82 looks, took to a stage that dazzled with a glitter runway. The venue, which beamed through the purple lights, has hosted few of the best fashion shows till date, along with Chanel’s yearly fashion shows. But, something like this was surely never witnessed by the magnanimous palatial glass construct.

Talking about the collection, this year the designers resorted to a more conservative collection, with models clothed more than ever on a VS show. Dramatic layering and capes flaunting a burst of prints and laces made for breathtaking props, which only furthered the swag of the models, as they posed for the shutterbugs.

Embroidered knee high boots also enjoyed the spotlight making a big comeback as the models walked the glitter strewn path.

The VS staple, Wings, went taller this year, creating a more larger than life mirage.

The collection was divided into six sections with each section accompanied by famed singing sensation. To their tunes cat walked the Victoria Secret’s Angels and Models adorning their more than perfect figurines with the pompous and gorgeous collection.

The heavyweight list of singers that added all the jive and groove to this runway party were Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Weeknd. The models grooved and jived on the runway interacting with these music maestros reflecting their one of a kind camaraderie with their fellow models.

The Road Ahead

The show began with the first theme of the night, The Road Ahead. In lieu of giving the brand a more global appeal this section, aimed at the diverse geographies, brought together a whole lot of elements that took us on a short trip around the world. The signature element of this capsule collection was the mélange of colors defined by metres of fringes and pom-poms.

Mountain Romance

The Mountain Romance section was all about cropped blouses and jackets done up with a Bavarian floral embroidery overload. The wings in this section were equally stunning in floral sculptures.

Secret Angel

The Secret Angel collection confirmed to the more French design aesthetics with models sashaying the ramp in a varied color palette donning layering, coats and jackets that clinched at the waist re-creating a more retro look and feel combined with some Chantilly lace work.

This section had models and angels sashaying down the runway making some bold and beautiful moves in lots of black, lace and latex carrying wings made out of leather and aluminum.

The Bright Night Angel

The finale section of the night boasted of all glitz and glamour from the world of Victoria Secrets with a collection of stone studded lingerie pieces in a luscious color scheme.

The Fantasy Bra this year was from this section. The emerald stone encrusted piece was donned by Jasmine Tookes who carried the piece with her unedifying élan.

Hair and Makeup for the VS Fashion Show 2016

Hair : The models flaunted tousled glossy waves that rendered a more polished and effortless runway look.

MakeUp: The faces of the models beamed with sultry brown eyes, dramatic lashes, bronzed cheeks and a nude pout. Their body shined as per the luminous skin mandate for every Victoria Secret’s Show adding on to their sensual appeal. For the nails, the Makeup experts resorted to flirty and feminine gel polish that got along well with the VS brand repute.
