The red carpet of 2017 American Music Awards was a grand display of glamour, glitz and not to forget lots and lots of skin. Not sure if we are more taken away by Selena Gomez’s new platinum hair color, Demi Lovato’s never ending tresses, Diana Ross’ over-the-top gown and matching headpiece or Hailee Seinfeld’s new version of tuxedo. While we decided exactly which celebrity had us shook, here’s an account on who wore what to arrive at the show on Sunday, November 19.
The songstress was spotted rocking some pink hair fashioned in loose curls. Her strapless crimson dress by Monique Lhuillier featuring a mirage of tulle layers had us wondering if she was paying homage to Rihanna’s look from 2015 Grammy’s.
2. Selena Gomez
It’s Sel Go’s first red carpet after her surgery and girl didn’t disappoint us. In fact, surprised us with a brand new platinum blonde hair do. Though we would have loved to see her walk the carpet with the beibs as the duo is finally together again. Nevertheless, she was stunning in a Coach leather minidress. The Roberto Coin jewelry added the bling to her charm.
3. Tracee Ellis Ross
In a maroon, sequined gown by Stella McCartney Tracee’s her first as took to the red carpet had us screaming. Though we were quite sure she would change into something from her own JCPenney collection while on the stage hosting the show!
4. Demi Lovato
We don’t really get to see the ‘Sorry not sorry’ singer turning towards longer much but it came as a fresh change this evening. The mid-parted hair matched her Ester Abner black gown by. We love how the sheer strapless number clings to her curves in all the right places.
5. Kelly Clarkson
Sequins are big this season and Kelly makes for the second celeb on our list to arrive at the event with a generous spread of shine all over her. In an off-the-shoulder gown by Christian Siriano gown she looked perfect. We love those dark nails matching her smile.
6. Hailee Steinfeld
The young star never misses to bring something unique to every event. Just look at the super edgy black tuxedo jacket with its statement pointy shoulder pads. The structured bodice beneath is alos another piece from the future. Keeping accessories to the minimum she added only a few pieces from Mugler with Bulgari jewelry.
7. Nicole Kidman
The Big Little Lies actress arrives in a splendid black Oliver Theyskens dress, we don’t really see Nicole wearing shorter dresses on the carpet that often. We love her over-the-knee Giuseppe Zanotti boots.
8. Kelly Rowland
The songstress looks flawless in her black embellished gown featuring sheer balloon sleeves. The show-stopper in this dress was that sky-high slit.
Now this singer got mixed reviews from fashion critics. There were those who liked it, and then few who didn’t. Ciara’s Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture black dress with a matching belt for accessory was the kind of dress that looks good in person, but doesn’t necessarily photograph well. Sure with that high slit with matching knee-high black boots, she would have looked gorgeous otherwise.
10. Camila Mendes
And here’s the Riverdale star looking classic as usual in her pale pink and yellow gown with the essential plunging neck line. The dress was a little too mature for Camila’s age but our girl knows how to carry herself like a queen.
11. Yara Shahidi
She is a teen sensation and is admired for many things, her fashion sense being one of them. Keeping her look very youthful, Yara wore Prada and accessorized with Mateo rings and earrings.
12. Alessia Cara
In a black jumpsuit, Alessia brought her edgy self to the event. We are impressed with the sheer sleeves and the lace-up boots. The accessories were very fine, a slim bracelet and a chain with the holy cross pendent, that’s all. She kept her make up nude and keeps the look effortless.
13. Sabrina Carpenter
Plaids were never really out of fashion, but learn it from Sabrina how you can make an extravagant outfit out of the good ole plaids. The Missoni dress included with a thigh high slit that allowed us a glance of her over the knee tan boots. She wore her hair in beachy waves with a cute half-top knot.
14. Heidi Klum
In her multicolored gown that included a major plunge along the neckline the model looked unread. But when does Heidi look any less of an angel anyway. She rounded up the look with matching Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
15. Lea Michele
She walked in in a pale pink J. Mendel dress. The embellishment of the halter neck was intricate and classic. On the well fitted bodice, the flowy skirt looks dreamlike. We have to give it up for Brad Goreski who styled La so impeccably.
Of course there were many others and we could take all the cyber space in the world elaborating the lavish style and make up we saw this evening, but these were the 15 beauties we picked from this year’s AMAs.
