With the New Year upon us, many of us are sure to make some New Year resolutions. Whether we actually stick to it or not, just making such resolutions helps us to look at ourselves and see how we can change/improve for the better. While some of us are determined to lose weight some others are promising themselves that strive to achieve a better work-life balance this year. I’m here to turn your focus to the much less strenuous but more fun new year resolutions that you must make in 2015 – the fashion resolutions.
Everybody needs to make some fashion resolutions after looking at their wardrobe and seeing where they need to make some changes. But here are the top 5 fashion resolutions of 2015 that every woman should follow.
Thou Shall Not Wear Socks With Sandals
Socks with sandals are cute if you are a three-year-old girl. But a grown woman wearing socks with sandals is NOT ACCEPTABLE. If it is chilly outside, then wear a pair of boots to keep warm. Wearing socks with sandals to keep your feet warm is cheating. It does nothing for your look except make you look dorky and very very uncool.
Thou Shall Clear Out Your Wardrobe
This one’s brutal but it needs to be done. You know that pair of jeans from your teen years that you have stowed away at the back of your closet? Get rid of them. Telling yourself you’ll lose weight and be able to fit into them again is just not practical. Why not get rid of them and make room for some new clothes? So you’ve put on some weight over the years, it’s nothing to feel ashamed or depressed about. Stop sighing over the past and start living in the present.
Thou Shall Spend Your Money Wisely
If you find a great deal, then go ahead and spend your money. But the need of the hour is to be wise and only buy things that are really on sale. With the big boom in online shopping, we are bombarded with so called never-before-seen prices and end-of-season sales every other day. Don’t fall victim to these scams. Keep your eyes wide open for genuine sales where you know you’re getting a great deal on a good item.
Thou Shall Try Out a New Style
Never worn a jumpsuit? Then 2015 is the year you try out the jumpsuit. Make it a point to be adventurous and try out a new style or trend this year. Being overly cautious about your wardrobe can cramp your style. So unleash your fun self and try out those stilettos that you’ve been drooling over but never had the courage to wear.
Thou Shall Not Be Mean
A true diva is someone who is beautiful not just on the outside but on the inside as well. Live and let live should be your motto this year. Fashion is very individualistic and each person has his or her own style. So the new time you see someone who according to you is “badly dressed” try not to pass snide remarks or hurtful comments. Instead, try to look at their clothes and see what’s unique about their style and how they’ve made it work for them. As you keep doing this, it will become a habit of sorts and you’ll only have good things to say about other people’s clothes. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful way to be? So instead of criticizing, try spreading positivity and you’ll find that you are much more happy with both yourself and the world.
So kick-start this year with these fashion resolutions, and do add on to this list with any personal fashion resolutions that you can think of and have a fashionable year ahead.
