The much-awaited fashion week is happening and we are excited to see the new face of fashion trends. This fashion week will mark the celebration of the milestones crossed by the veterans in the industry. Showcasing their collections and witnessing this show is a bunch of established names who have earned their place. About 100 designers are expected to present their creations which will mark the next big fashion wave in the country.
Designers are celebrating their 25th and 30th years in the industry with this fashion week which will give them a platform to celebrate rightfully. This is also the first time, that Amazon India has introduced a “See Now, Buy Now” concept, where fresh pieces off the runway can be bought right away.
Day 1 of The Amazon Fashion Week kickstarted on October 11th, and we are already drooling over the gorgeous models donned in phenomenal outfits from the spring-summer edition. Here are the highlights of Day 1 :
Kara Ross
New York-based designer, Kara Ross showcased her collection which was named ‘Unleashed World Runway Show’ that was in support of Indian artisans. The models sported the collection which had an air of casualness and brilliant creativity.
Summery vibe shirts with satin pants could be a game changer in these seasonal days. Kara Ross puts together her outfits so carefully and thoughtfully.
Nargis Fakhri stunned the audience while walking as the showstopper for Kara Ross. The actress was in a laced black zipped shirt paired with shiny silver pants to give a bright finale to the future of this collection. Her bob cut definitely put into place every imperfection and she rocked her way through with an ever so confident air.
Rimzim Dadu
The Amazon Fashion Week was opened by Rimzim Dadu who showcased advanced technology highlighting the new age power in today’s industry. The purpose was to focus on the surface texture developments that she has learned in the two-year break.
From chiffon cording to fabric created from wires, the clothes showcased a different dimension that is not yet explored in fashion.
The separates in the collection were a universal pick for women of all age groups. These simple outfits stole the show.
Her clothing and textile installation instilled a multi-media presentation on the runway which did not disappoint.

J J Valaya
J J Valaya’s eponymous labels turn 25 this year and to celebrate so, he will be focusing his collection on the leitmotifs that are the backbone of his design. The collected sported on the runway turned its attention towards – Gulistan inspired by nature, Jamavar and Punjab inspired by court dressing of Maharajas.
All the outfits were intricately detailed in the usual royal Valaya style.
The designer himself also announced that this collection will be an integral part of his brand every year, with slight twists and trends being added.
The embroidery on every outfit is antique and ages back to the olden days, which enhances the look of it. Treating tradition with a new edgy twist is the theme of this.

Nida Mahmood For Deivee
An active lifestyle brand for women, which incorporates a modern and stylish look to it has displayed their collection which was full of rich textiles, colors, and culture. The idea behind the brand is to create clothes that break barriers for women and comfortable at the same time.
Milind Soman walked the ramp after a big break of 7 years and feels he wants to do this more often. The silhouettes the label displayed are inspired by the traditions of India and could be versatile from the dance floor till the treadmill.
All the saris, kurtas and the usual gym wear had a quirky twist to it which made it all the more fun to be donned in.
Samant Chauhan
Asymmetric dresses, gowns, slit dresses and ponchos are some of the routines at a Samant Chauhan fashion show. It’s the same here, except that it’s much bigger and more stunning than before. His classic collection kept white as the base and put together unique contemporary looks.
A classic white gown with frills as embellishments to keep it regal all the way. This cosmopolitan look could be the ideal English gown.
The bell sleeves trend has been contagious the last few years, and the creativity with which it’s portrayed is fabulous.
This strapless gown has stuck to minimal chest embroidery while leaving the rest of it to have a party of its own. Don’t miss the laced up effect given midway to the gown.
Samant Chauhan is the man to go to for a perfect twist to the traditional sari. A tube blouse with slits paired with a floral embroidered sari is the new-age calling.
What an elegant manner to step out looking like a dream. This suit could be worn to a formal or informal event, and it will keep you sophisticated.

Schulen Fernandes For Wendell Rodricks
Designer Schulenen Fernandes for Wendell Rodricks showcased a collection called, ‘Indigofera’, which draws its inspiration from the color of the indigo plant in various interpretations. The entire collection focussed on shades of blue with summer color hues such as ivory rose quartz and pale green.
This easy breezy summer essential keeps the outfit limited to its asymmetrical trend while adding on a stylish blue unique collar.
A versatile dress brimming with feminity taking the collection back to the ‘Less is more’ saying.
The subtle usage of colors is what carves an audience for this outfit. The contrasting collar and the neon belt substitute make the ideal choices.
