Celebrity Sari Trends

Saris are the most fancied styles of Indian women and they are claimed to be the best drapes on a woman of any frame. While the saris were simple 9 yards draped around the silhouette of the delicate women at one point in time, they have now evolved into an interesting trend with a twist.

Setting an example and making it easier on us to introduce you to the re-invented styles of sari were the hot ladies of both Bollywood cinema and South cinema world, namely Malaika Arora and Shruti Haasan.

Malaika Arora

In a bright multi-color printed sari by Satya Paul, India, Malaika rendered a sensuous look at the unveiling of their new designer series, Ramayana. Wrapping the pallu around her neck like a choker and coupling her sari with full-sleeved contrast long neck blouse, she added a twist to the sari tale wonderfully. With Apala by Sumit necklace and by pinning her hair into a sophisticated updo, she nailed the look grandly.

Shruti Haasan

Contrast hues have been the raging theme in the sari fashion but recently Shruti Haasan has opened a new avenue altogether with solid toned Anavila sari. High-necked, sheer-sleeved, long blouse in the same print is a nice twist to the simple sari look. Silver Streak earrings and Amrapali Jewels ring gave her style the oomph that it needed. Kudos to Amit Thakur, the hairstylist for giving the lovely lady, a delightful braided hairdo. Aparnah Mitter, the makeup artist certainly chose to highlight the green eyes, luscious lips and the glowing complexion with minimal, natural makeup.
That’s a rock-solid style worth a shot, don’t you agree?
