As the curtains closed down on this week long festivities, we must say – what a week it was!!! As we oohed and aahed over each designer’s creations, we absolutely lost track of time and soon it was time for the finale show. And trust us, this finale show was like the perfect cherry on top of the cake.
And how could it not be when it was by ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. His show was truly one of its kind and you guys are totally going to flip when we reveal who the showstopper was. Excited???? Well, go ahead and read on.
Now, before we reveal the showstopper, let us tell you more about his creations and other unique elements. We’ll start with the set which was a masterpiece in itself. Low chandeliers adorned the runway and the models walked in elegantly to the music by a 40 piece orchestra. Yes, you read it right!!! The Symphony Of India Orchestra played live music throughout the show. Quiet a musical journey it was.
His show was truly a bridal paradise as we saw some breathtaking saris, suits, cocktail dresses and his trademark lehengas. His color palette was made up of red, gold, green, blue and black with a touch of pastel hues as well.
Titled ‘Illuminate’, the evening sure did illuminate with his stunning designs which had shimmer and sequence work in abundance.

We have always been a fan of his embroidery work and this time too we were treated to some beautiful Zarodozi, Parsi, Kashmiri tilla, Baroque crystals and faux fur work. Sabyasachi’s name is quite synonymous with royal grandeur owing to his bridal collection. However, we were definitely taken by surprise when the models sashayed down in his new urban collection of cocktail dresses, silk dhoti pants and A line tent dresses.
And, to end this perfect finale, out walked the gorgeous soon-to-be mommy Kareena Kapoor Khan!!! Didn’t we tell you that you would totally flip out?
Isn’t that a jaw dropping look? Just look at her looking as glorious as the Begum that she is. She walked and posed daintily leaving us all sighing at her and the outfit. Feast your eyes ladies as this look is sure to be imprinted on your minds for a very long time.
