The 4 cities gala of fashion completed its seven day long trip of London. And we have got all that is worth the talk from the English capital.
Style Trends That Ruled London Fashion Week
Use of complementary colors was predominant in the collection, and color blocking made a re-appearance as the trend. Monochrome seems to lose the favor of the big design houses like Burberry, Johnny Coca and Rakshanda as the boldest shades of blue, purple, mustard and browns rule their creation. What one understands from the pattern is autumn this year will be signified by the combination of unorthodox colors.
The super smooth fabric has never really disappeared from the scene of high-fashion and seems to retain its relevance throughout the show. But what caught our attention was not the use of velvet. Instead, it was the crafty prints on it. We had Peter Pilotto with his design in velvet, Erdem’s mustard dress with floral pattern all over and Mary Katrantzou purple ensemble with glistening jelly fish – all celebrating velvet.
Why should boys have all the fun? To break the trend, the patterns of Christopher Kane, Simone Rocha and JW Anderson featured gapping pouches for pockets – voicing out a woman’s dire need of pockets in her attire. The chunky coats, trousers and dresses were all given their fair share of pouches – this we need in our daily wear.
We also found some floral overload in Christopher Kane and Johnny Coca, but who is even complaining? By the looks of these quilted coats, flowy dresses or the ones molded to the shape of a model’s body – we infer the collection certainly enlivened the day. To some extent it did bring back the memories of the good ole days of floral wallpapers we mat still find at our grandma’s place.
Super Models At London Fashion Week
The super model culture was seen making a comeback at LFW 2017. While some were excited about it, others didn’t seem rejoining much. The supermodels we spotted amongst others were our favorite Gigi Hadid, Kendell Jenner and Bella Hadid.
Best Looks
Some of the most unforgettable looks of the week long fiesta came from the house of Burberry, Erdem, Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou, Roksanda, Mulberry, Ashish, Huishan Zhang, and David Koma. What was common in these pieces were the absence of commonality. Each of these creations held ground in uniqueness and that is what placed them on our list of best looks.
Front Row And Parties
A city inhibited by the who’s who of the world was sure to have a major turn up when hosting a fashion week. We were not disappointed one bit. Just per our expectations the front row and the after parties were lit up with many familiar faces from the zones of entertainment, fashion, page 3 culture and more.
Here are Laura Baily and Candace Lake spotted at the The Isa Arfen presentation.
