An amazing celebration of grandeur in black and gold, Shantanu Goenka brought raw appeal, beauty and breathtaking style to the ramp with his designs at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013. His collection “Kruhun” ( black in Kashmiri) won accolades and raving reviews because of the glorious designs, lovely usage of color and style.
A passout from NIFT Kolkata’s inaugural batch, he trained under the famous designer JJ Valaya. With expertise in Indian trousseau and bridal wear for women, he has made his name as a famous Indian designer and fashion connoisseur. His work is associated with luxury, class and style.
His clothing collection exudes glamor and creates a unique style statement. What makes him from different from other designers is the fact that he brings a new understanding and feel to femininity with his rate and unique clothes. His clothing collection uses rare and quality fabrics which exude finesse, showcase minute detailing and elegance.
His designer creations are available at different places in India and abroad: Ensemble in Delhi & Mumbai, Aza in Mumbai, Carma Delhi, Mirangi in Jaipur, Oorja Elhae in Hyderabad, Zenia Fashions in Kuwait, Queen in Riyadh, Moda in Kwait, Yasmin California, Beams Japan, and Designer Lounge Dubai.
His designer collection “Kruhun” at Lakme Fashion week Winter Festive 2013 was a beautiful compilation of women’s wear based on ancient India, Middle East and Persia.The men’s collection was a compilation of sheer choags in combination with pajamas, jodhpuris, waistcoats and harem pants.
Shantanu’s work reflects traditional Indian handicrafts: zardozi work, Kashmiri tilla work and sequined sheeting. The women’s collection consisted of long, flowing anarkalis, pajamas, heavily embroidered sarees, asymmetric jackets, printed swimwear with embroidered flimsy kaftans and opulent gowns.

Unique aspects of his designer clothing collection sported by the models were: high neck full-sleeved and sleeveless blouses, animal prints like eagle and tiger, motifs like gold color trees and lotus beaded hair accessories and bejeweled cummerbund.
Sonal Chauhan was the showstopper who ended Shantanu’s show on a grand note in a black and gold ghaghra choli with a fully embellished net dupatta. The ghaghra was adorned with a big brown border, gold prints and graced the ramp with its ornate look. She looked resplendent in the Indian outfit with matching jewellery, accessories and hairdo.
