Shantanu’s work reflects traditional Indian handicrafts: zardozi work, Kashmiri tilla work and sequined sheeting. The women’s collection consisted of long, flowing anarkalis, pajamas, heavily embroidered sarees, asymmetric jackets, printed swimwear with embroidered flimsy kaftans and opulent gowns.
Unique aspects of his designer clothing collection sported by the models were: high neck full-sleeved and sleeveless blouses, animal prints like eagle and tiger, motifs like gold color trees and lotus beaded hair accessories and bejeweled cummerbund.
Sonal Chauhan was the showstopper who ended Shantanu’s show on a grand note in a black and gold ghaghra choli with a fully embellished net dupatta. The ghaghra was adorned with a big brown border, gold prints and graced the ramp with its ornate look. She looked resplendent in the Indian outfit with matching jewellery, accessories and hairdo.
