Sure they are Bollywood celebrities, but some of India’s finest jewelers and designers were behind their dazzling appearance on ramp at the recently concluded India International Jewellery Week in Mumbai. Gitanjali Gems, Farah Khan, Swarovski, Ganjam and Golecha Jewels were just a few popular names to showcase their precious designs at the glittering 3-day event. The ramp at Grand Hyatt hosted an impressive representation of Bollywood beauty – from the ever-gorgeous Sridevi to newbie Shraddha Kapoor. The grand finale had IIJW ambassador Sonam Kapoor making us go wow for her angelic looks, while an elegant Bipasha Basu showed up in her traditional best.
Let’s take a look at who-wore-what and walked the ramp for whom at the 5th edition of IIJW.
Neha Dhupia for Gitanjali Gems
Queenie Singh’s Parineeta designs roused applause as the ‘royal bride’ – Neha Dupia appeared, dripping in diamonds and rubies. A statement necklace, shoulder grazing earrings and ruby-studded Mang Tikka sparkled under the lights as Neha walked in wearing a heavily embellished pink lehenga by designer duo Ashima and Leena.
Ameesha Patel for Surya Gold
Ameesha modeled in a flat wide scalloped collar neckpiece studded with rubies, emeralds and dangling pearls from the ‘Nature Inception’ collection. A lacy cuff and earrings also added glamour to her voluminous pink lehenga and green corset outfit.
Chitrangada Singh for Moni Agarwal
Chitrangada looked mesmerizing on the ramp in a bright coral lehenga accentuated by scalloped embroidered net dupatta. Kundan-polki neckpieces, a sultry nose ring, trendy cummerbund and ring bracelets had the Bollywood diva dazzling at IIJW 2014.
Kalki Koechlin for Preeti Jain
Kalki wore an elaborate v-shaped gold neckpiece studded with rubies, emerald and diamonds. Matching earrings and a Kada from the ‘Amour’ collection also added glamour to her simple coral red gown from Divinno.
Dia Mirza for Shobha Shringar
The pretty Dia Mirza opened and closed the show in sparkling designs from the Neesha Collection. Walking down the ramp with designers Shobha Choksey and Snehal Choksey, Dia looked fabulous in a tangerine lehenga with matching golden choli designed by Ismaaya Couture.
Lisa Ray for Farah Khan
Ace designer Farah Khan had the charismatic Lisa Ray doing showstopper appearance in a pair of diamond, pearl and emerald danglers with ear lobe chains, a cocktail ring and diamond encrusted bangle from her Quaintrelle collection.

Zarin Khan for Swarovski
Instead of walking in, Zarin appeared in a Palanquin as the Rajasthani bride for Swarovski’s ‘Brides of India’ show. Her Archana Kochhar bridal lehenga was complimented by a giant neckpiece and all the traditional ornaments.
Shraddha Kapoor for Gitanjali Gems
Walking down the ramp in a fitted green and pink ruffled Karan Malhotra Gown, Shraddha closed day 2 at IIJW 2014 wearing a diamond and amethyst set from Gitanjali’s lightweight collection.
Sonam Kapoor for Nazraana
Sonam opened the show for Rio Tinto in an asymmetrical white dress by Gavin Miguel. The off-shoulder dress was complimented by delicate earrings with four-leaf clover design and rings.
Yami Gautam for Nazraana
A cute Yami closed Rio Tinto’s Nazraana collection in a graceful Gavin Miguel white gown. She wore floral bracelet, diamond necklace, earrings and rings.
Sridevi for Golecha Jewels
The eternally gorgeous Sridevi walked the ramp in a Vikram Padnis outfit accessorized by Golecha’s regal diamond bridal Rani Haar, matching earrings, bracelet and ring.
Parineeti Chopra for Bridhichand Ghanshyamdas
Wearing a black net skirt and velvet corset with golden embroidery, Parineeti showcased a pearl neckpiece with a heavy pendant and large emerald studded bangle.
Bipasha Basu for PC Jewellers
The lovely Bipasha Basu modeled for the grand finale in a green embroidered net lehenga and maroon blouse. Adding glamour to her luxurious outfit was a polki Raani Haar, shoulder duster earrings, bangles and a cocktail ring.
We’ll leave you with images of IIJW ambassador Sonam Kapoor, once again dazzling in white, closing the grand finale and looking very much like a princess in Ganjam’s bridal headband called “Arbor Amore” with gold leaf design, Nizam ring, Gerbera wrist wear and floral earrings.
