With every designer and stylist experimenting with cuts and drapes, all our classics, seem to be getting a hearty fusion makeover. Adding an element of contemporary fits and tailoring, is taking the ethnic wear setup to all new highs.
So while, classics like anarkalis and sarees continue to rule, there has been observed a paradigm shift towards more structured, easy to wear and deconstructive fusion silhouettes.
Capes, Off-shoulders, cutouts, crops are all reinventing the ethnic game giving our indian staples a modern facelift.
With our Bollywood fashionistas donning ethnic at it’s modern best, we have here compiled everything latest you need as reference for your fusion makeover this festive season.
Sonam Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor’s divaliscious image got an impressive upgrade while shooting for the cover story of Bazaar Bride India in the New York city. Against the city’s iconic landscape, Sonam posed with much elan. Anita Dongre’s navy blue gown embellished with Indian embroidery and motifs presented a perfect amalgamation of Indian royalty and Western cuts, shot against the iconic Brooklyn Bridge playing background.
Sridevi
Aging backwards Sridevi is giving even the newbies a run for their money. Most recently, the stylista was exuding Indian vibes, wearing white pants and shirt layered with a white cape from topped with a necklace. All credits to stylist Eshaa Amiin for putting together this fusion look. For those of you who love their pants and shirts, this one is for you.
We were all hearts for this Anamika Khanna silhouette. Quite a breakthrough from the usual ethnic monotony, this one offers much comfort and all that attention. A distinct approach to avoid looking almost the same across wedding seasons. Stylist Eshaa Amiin sealed this look with an elaborate choker, ear studs, defined brows and a red lipstick. We suggest a complete replication.
Swara Bhaskar
Swara’s white Posh Pride ensemble gave us all the saree feels while she still sported a pair of fit and flare white pants and bell sleeves top. The embroidered palla added all the fusion touch to this one. Although we like it, only bold and beautiful souls can completely justify this one like Swara.
Nidhi Agarwal
Nidhi Agarwal gave us a fusion splendour with her one shoulder asymmetric top paired with a deconstructive bottom. The outfit from Anoli Shah designs renders an off beat nouveau look to try this festive season. We heart that big silver hoops addition by stylist Anisha. A winged liner seals this one to perfection.

Credits to stylist Jaanvi Chowhan for styling up this fusion look.

Sayani Gupta definitely knows how to make a statement. Wearing an Indian version of the strappy slip dress and pants in yellow banarsi from Raw Mango, Sayani proved her bold style. Edgy and full of oomph Sayani’s look is an inspiration when you want to leave an impact. Only remember along with the outfit, this look requires attitude.
Kriti Sanon
Kriti Sanon is swaying us with her promotional wardrobe. A pre draped saree she recently wore, grabbed eyeballs. Looking pretty in a white number from designer Payal Pratap, Kriti worked hot and sweet at once. Stylist Sukriti Grover deserves a special mention for styling up this look with a head turning neck piece from Minerali store.
