With Raksha Bandhan, Ganpati, Onam and of course Independence Day, all falling last month, August 2017 gave us major festive feels.
This season our girls seem to have moved on from light lehengas, and last season staple ethnic skirts, to their latest crush, gorgeous floor length anarkalis.
Subtle pastel anarkalis lit up with embellishments were the top picks that seemed to have added some extra sparkle to our stunning divas. From Priyanka to Aishwarya all the leading ladies were spotted working kalidar one piece from ace designers.

Sonam Kapoor is the flag bearer of fashion in Bollywood. The woman never fails to surprise us diving into unexplored fashion territories, inspiring the future of Indian fashion. Most recently the diva made a U-turn to her Indian roots for a friends wedding invite. The woman whitewashed the shutterbugs with her dazzling ivory anarkali from the masters, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.Restoring the simple Indian girl look Sonam ditched ott accessories opting to don only a pair of jhumkas. The white anarkali’s glory touched new skies, when the diva wore it, reminding us of that shy suave Indian girl behind the celebrity Sonam Kapoor.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
To the Ganpati soiree at the Ambani’s, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan carried a subtle, pastel festive look wearing an anarkali from the designer duo, Abu Jani, and Sandeep Khosla. Aishwarya who was accompanied by her husband and daughter picked up a pastel peach orange tone for her attendance among the who’s who of the city. With the kali’s lined with beautiful silver embroidered panels, Ash made for a pretty appearance. Amping up her festive look was a bright orange clutch and a pair of juttis.
Shreya Ghoshal
Looking fresh as a daisy, Bengali beauty, and Bollywood’s singing sensation, Shreya Ghoshal recently wowed us with a mesmerizing Indian look. In an attempt to woo her American fans Shreya made her way to a concert in Florida, U.S. wearing an anarkali suit. The mint blue anarkali got all its charm with a contrasting yellow dupatta. While the contrast play worked wonders, pretty floral clusters embroidered on the net dupatta made the outfit delicate and more appealing. Shreya sealed her concert look with a pair of silver earrings and her tresses in curls twirling down her shoulders.
Divyanka Tripathi
The reigning queen of small screen, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya loves wearing Indian looks and hence most of her appearances are in kurtas, floor length anarkali’s, sarees and lehengas. During the 10 days of Ganpati, Divyanka wore a host of floor lengths to the get togethers. A fusion white number the actress wore to the first Ganpati celebrations of Sargun and Ravi Dubey, caught our attention. Looking pretty in an organic floor length anarkali with a embroidered overlap from designer Purvi Doshi, Divyanka made a standout appearance. Cascading straightened tresses and a bright red lip color completed her festive look.
Sara Ali Khan
Amidst the established names of Mumbai, this newbie walked her glamorous being into the Ganpati party at the Ambani residence. Keeping the festivity in mind, Sara Ali Khan, the heiress to the Pataudi empire, dressed up Indian. Much swag and those killer Indian looks got an instant lift with a bright pink embroidered anarkali suit from the couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. As Sara swirled in her desi girl look, the shutterbugs at the party followed the young diva with their round of flashes. Working her natural look, Sara sealed this one with a bright pink lip color and a gray orange clutch.
Aditi Rao Hydari
Royalty Aditi Rao Hydari has well inherited her Nizam mannerisms. Courtesy her natural beauty a perfect figurine and an envious fashion taste, this tinsel town beauty slays wearing almost any outfit. At the Ambani Ganpati celebrations, Aditi made for a statement appearance wearing an outfit that is sure to impress her Gujrati hosts. Stylist Sanam Ratansi dressed up her muse in a black couture piece with beautiful Kutch inspired embroidery, from the house of Anita Dongre’s Tree Of Love Collection. Aditi ruled the look wearing the outfit with a pair of earrings and a big cocktail ring from Amrapali.

Karisma Kapoor
Karisma Kapoor is grabbing all the eyeballs in the fashion circuit with her back to back lovely appearances. Working both Indian and western outfits to the T, Karisma’s fashion turnaround is worthy of appreciation. For her invitation to the Ambani residence we were expecting the Kapoor lady to surprise us, and much to our hopes, the woman gave us a stunner. Wearing an ivory anarkali suit from the label Anamika Khanna, Karisma aced it yet again. The white escapades were complimented well by chevron border in copper and brights like red blue and pink. Stylist Eshaa Amiin completed this divaliscious look with earrings from Jet gems, a bright pink lip color and not to miss the pink bindi.
Priyanka Chopra
After taking over Hollywood with her performances, Pee Cee is back to her roots. In the city during Ganpati, Priyanka kept her best ethnic foot forward at the celebrations hosted by the Ambani’s and Arpita Khan. Priyanka stepped out wearing a blush floor length anarkali from the label, Abhinav Misra. With round silver sequins scattered across the kalis and dupatta, stylist Ami Patel sealed the look subtly with a pair of chandbalis, a bright pout, and flowy tresses.
Preity Zinta
Away from paparazzi, this lost soul has been busy living her happily married life. While we are waiting for Bollywood’s dimple girl to make a comeback soon, we are happy to spot Preity at various events and functions. Looking straight out of a timeless epic, Preity treated us with an elegant and absolute royal Indian appearance most recently. Wearing a dull gold floor length anarkali from Rimple and Harpreet Narula and timeless earrings from Mahesh Notandass, stylist Leepakshi turned the diva into nothing short of a queen.
Bhumi Pednekar
During her promotional run up for her movie Toilet, Bhumi adorned a host of Indian appearances. One anarkali that stood out, was an all grey anarkali suit Bhumi wore. Stylist Aastha Sharma decked up Bhumi in a grey kalidar floor length from Jade. While the suit was simple, the floral embroidery on the edge of the dupatta looked delicate and feminine.
