Like always loaded with few ups, downs, and tons of memories to take to the grave, another year has come to a dramatic end. Good or bad, it has been a fantastic year, hasn’t it? On the Bollywood front however, it will be quoted as the year of big fat Indian weddings, don’t you agree?

Let us do a quick recap on the weddings of the year-
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja Wedding:
Sonam Kapoor’s wedding was the first grand wedding that set the Instagram on fire. The wedding pics and videos were like a rage on the social media and the audience enjoyed every detail of the elaborate wedding festivities.
Starting with a Mehendi ceremony at her residence, followed by Sangeet at her aunt’s home, the wedding began at a large scale, extravagant and magnificent. For her Mehendi, she dressed up pleasant and pretty in a peach and gold colored outfit. With loose hair, minimal touch up, and subtle accessories, she looked exquisite.
For her sangeet that was absolutely filled with fun and fervor, she glammed up in an ivory and gold Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla outfit. Eye-candy were her jewels, and mainly the dancing peacock kaleeras by Mrinalini Chandra Label.
Breathtaking was Sonam on her wedding day in a red lehenga designed by Anuradha Vakil that had beautiful, intricate gold detailing. From the nearly nude-to-blush toned makeup, to her picture perfect hairdo, she was every bit radiant.
At the reception, Sonam was captured on the glam cam in stunning graphic-print Anamika Khanna lehenga. Anand Ahuja’s sneakers at the reception sure did rounds in the fashion news, remember?
All in all, Sonam and Anand’s wedding was a star-studded affair and the guest list included Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukerji, Shahid Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and many many more.
Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi Wedding:
While we had eyes only for Sonam Kapoor and her big lavish wedding, Neha Dhupia took us by surprise by posting her wedding pictures. Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi tied the knot in an intimate Sikh wedding ceremony at a Gurudwara in New Delhi. Unlike other celebrities, the couple kept it low-profile and an intimate affair with near and dear.
For the wedding, she picked a stunning pastel pink lehenga by Anita Dongre and accentuated the beauty of her wedding style with traditional jewelry also from Anita Dongre Fine Jewelry Collection. Sleek updo, gajra, smokey eyes and pink bindi drew her bridal avatar gorgeously.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh Wedding:
It was the much-awaited weddings of the year and as expected, it was a grand royal affair. Yes, we are referring to the grand union of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The couple tied the knot at Italy’s Lake Como attended by their close family and friends. Starting with the ganesha Pooja with which the wedding festivities began, to her cocktail parties, Deepika mostly picked Sabyasachi couture.
For the Ganesh puja, she dressed up radiant in a brilliant orange Sabyasachi label. From the chand balis to her updo and bronze makeup, she was a ray of sunshine.
For her Mehendi ceremony, she glammed up pretty in a pink Sabyasachi outfit. With the pallu over her updo, she looked rich and regal, don’t you agree? While most of us step away from jewelry during mehendi ceremony, she added extravagant pieces of jewels that gleamed on her.
Two wedding ceremonies took place in Italy, one following the Anand Karaj Sindhi ritual and the other a Konkani ceremony. For the Sindhi wedding ceremony, the diva dressed up stunning in a red Sabyasachi outfit. For the Konkani ceremony, she looked exquisite and celestial in a burnt orange and gold sari by The House of Angadi.
And oh my-my, the wedding receptions and parties were full of glam, spirit and fun. The couple hosted their first wedding reception in Bengaluru where Deepika looked breathtakingly beautiful in an ivory and gold sari by The House of Angadi (a gift by her mother). Can’t look away from those emerald jewels, can you? For her Mumbai wedding reception, she sported a gold and silk chikankari sari by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.
Lastly, the couple threw a lavish party for their B-town friends in Mumbai and the diva’s style was one of our faves. She rocked a red hot lace thigh-high slit gown by Zuhair Murad for the evening and took us for a glam spin.
Each and every ceremony of Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding was filled with great energy, fun and major fashion just like the couple.The guest list included Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kareena Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Sonakshi Singa, Hrithik Roshan and many more.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Wedding:
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied knot at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India. It was one of the big fat Indian weddings that blew our minds off. The start of the grand union began with a Roka ceremony, a couple months before the wedding at her Mumbai residence. She looked very much in love, radiant and beautiful in a yellow Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla suit.
The wedding festivities began with the colorful Mehendi ceremony to which the diva picked a vibrant, high-spirited multicolor lehenga by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. With flowers in her updo, and sun kissed makeup, she was a sight to sore eyes.
The mehendi ceremony was followed by Sangeet ceremony where both the families entertained their guests with spectacular performances. For this grand celebration, our desi girl opted for a silver and gold sari by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.
Coming to the wedding details, the couple brought both Christian and Hindu cultures and faiths together with their union. They had a Christian wedding which was then followed by a Hindu ceremony. For the Christian ceremony, she looked elegant in a hand-beaded and embroidered Ralph Lauren lace gown with 75-foot long veil. Courtesy of her jewels go to Chopard.
For her Hindu wedding, she went traditional donning a red lehenga by Sabyasachi. To the ethnic style, she chose to add Sabyasachi Heritage polka diamonds and ended up looking truly exotic.
Like Deepika and Ranveer, PeeCee and Nick Jonas had multiple wedding receptions. For the reception in Delhi which was attended by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the diva sported a champagne colored lehenga by Falguni & Shane Peacock. The couple had another reception and Priyanka looked glamorous in a strapless midnight blue Sabyasachi outfit and jewels.
Lastly, the couple, Priyanka and Nick, threw a lavish party to the Bollywood industry friends and family in Mumbai. To the party, the diva dressed up sweet and sexy in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla outfit.
Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap:
Just like Neha Dupia and Angad Bedi, another couple got hitched in a quiet ceremony. Yes, it was Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap. The couple tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in Hyderabad clad in pastel wear. For the wedding ceremony, Saina chose a pastel outfit and ethnic jewelry both by Vaishali Agarwal. While she went totally traditional even with her reception, she opted for a western style for her wedding party.
For the reception, she rocked a stunning a nawab style in Sabyasachi label. With maang tika and heavy jewelry, she looked regal. However, for the wedding party, she went chic with a Shantanu & Nikhil bodycon gown along with sparkling baubles from Manjula Jewellers. Simple was the ceremony and simple was the diva, yet she made for a stunning bride this year. Don’t you think so?
Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal:
Competing with all the weddings of the year was the wedding of Isha Ambani, the daughter of India’s wealthiest man, Mukesh Ambani. It was one of the jaw dropping weddings of the year. From the pre-wedding celebrations at Udaipur to the lavish wedding at their residence, it was a perfect swoon-worthy wedding.
The festivities began at the Udaipur’s City Palace with a rocking performance by Beyonce and Bollywood superstars including Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan, and many more. For the wedding the 27-storied Antilia was decked like a bride, and the entire stretch of road from building to the main street was decorated for the week with fresh flowers.
For the wedding ceremonies, the lovely bride, Isha Ambani picked traditional gorgeous outfits from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi. We can’t stop drooling over the lavishness and the fashion bonanza at the wedding!
