With the month of October setting in, Fall has officially arrived. It’s time to switch from the pastels and prints of the Spring/Summer wardrobe to a wardrobe dominated with layering, knits and trending fall staples.
While we may just be realizing the slight chill in the air, our B-Town divas have already upped their fashion game. Making a shift from the pastels and bright summer favorites, ace stylists seem to have turned to mother-nature for some color inspiration, while dressing up divas for their appearances. A wave of muted earthy colors seems to be dominating the A/W color palette this season.
We have done our bit of research based on a database including the leading ladies of Bollywood. Results prove that these three colors are here to stay this winter.
Kale/Olive: Pantone has officially announced kale/olive to be the “it” color, come fall. With the color soon becoming a rage among our reigning queens of Bollywood, looks like this one is a must have.
Kareena Kapoor has been rocking this color. Right from a dress, to a bomber to an exquisite lehenga, the mom-to-be is showing too much love for this exotic tone.
First spotted wearing kale in its desi avatar, Kareena made headlines walking the ramp for Sabyasachi this LFW. We all know Sabya’s love for rustic colors, and he surely whipped out a showstopper outfit, set in tones of dull olive.
Kareena Kapoor Khan turned heads yet again dressed in a one shoulder Kale number for the birthday bash of Rima Jain. Dressed in Deme by Gabriella, Kareena totally slayed her fans with that high slit.

Very recently the Begum was spotted in a kale bomber quirked up with funky patches. She paired her rather flashy jacket with a basic white tee and black leggings. Kareena looked chic and effortlessly stylish, carrying this airport look.
Sonakshi Sinha kick-started her promotional run for Force 2, at the Kapil Sharma show, donning a knee length dress in deeper shades of kale. Looking quite a stunner in this Zara dress the Dabangg girl looked edgy carrying those slight ruffles lining the edge of the dress. Stylist Aastha Sharma rounded up her look with silver Aldo heels and a mid-parted slick back hair. We like that pairing of kale with metallic tones.
Kajol has been on the go lately promoting her husband’s upcoming movie Shivaay across the globe. For a promotional event, she looked stunning donning a kale gown from the house of designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. With that embellished bodice with kale and silver accents, Kajol definitely carried this color with so much panache.
Jacqueline Fernandez seems to be in love with her Kale khaki jacket she has been wearing lately, particularly for her airport appearances. Recently spotted at the airport with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt ready to board her charter to Guwahati for the ISL opening, Jacqueline was seen wearing her olive jacket with a white cropped tank and black Puma joggers. She completed this jet setting look with her fur sliders and a blush pink backpack. Taking inspiration from her, we recommend a pairing of pastel handbags to brighten up this earthy tone.
Sakshi Dhoni in mood for some color co-ordination with her spouse, was seen wearing dark olive at the screening of the biopic, based on her husband and team India’s captain cool, M. S. Dhoni. For the private screening Sakshi opted for a one-shoulder, knee length kale number.
Beige/Nude: Beige is one of those classics that repeatedly keeps making a comeback. After having ruled the fashion escapade for quite some time, the color seems to have regained ground in the celebrity closets across B-town.
Jahanvi Kapoor rocked a cute beige strapless dress defined with asymmetric ruffled edges for the Mirzya screening last weekend. She rightly accentuated this neutral tone with her tan accessories, her tan Chanel and a pair of brown Valentino shoes. If you are that classic dresser then we would strongly recommend this one.
Kareena Kapoor who has been topping the fashion scale with her extraordinary maternity wardrobe made appearances wear this trending hue.
While traveling back from Hyderabad with beau Saif, Kareena made for a refreshing airport look dressed in a sophisticated beige maxi dress from Ritu Kumar. Credits to stylist Tanya Ghavri, for picking up this classy printed number with a defined bodice for the glowing mommy-to-be.
For one of her off-duty looks post her shoot with Saif for Harper’s Kareena opted to go neutral. In a pretty beige knee length frock landscaped with floral print from the house of Pero, the chubby mummy made for a cute frame. Keeping it light, Mrs. Khan rounded up her relaxed look with a pair of red flip flops.
Kangana Ranaut is one fashion forward diva of Bollywood. Flaunting back to back bang on looks, Kangana takes her fashion very seriously. Hence when this B-town beauty sports a look you can trust it is to be most trending. Recently, the lady opted to layer her basic orange tee and black bottoms with a neutral winter coat, taking her airport look from drab to fab. Considering Kangana was headed to NYC for a shoot, she ditched light layering. However, we suggest you replicate this one with a neutral knitted shrug to beat that slight dip in temperatures.
Sonam Kapoor is a style icon, known for her unconventional personal style. Every time the diva dresses up she sets a benchmark for her peers. This Kapoor sister was seen rocking a beige ensemble from Diming Rubu for the promotions of her brother’s debut Mirzya. Letting the outfit do all the talking, stylist Rhea Kapoor styled this minimalist look with a pair of Sangeeta Boochra earrings. These siblings are totally taking over the fashion scenario in Bollywood.
Amber: This hue is looking to enter the charts this season. With celebrities beginning to play with tones of amber we are particularly excited to see how this color will translate into the fall wardrobes.
Alia Bhatt is known for her casual chic street-style. Mostly dressed in tees, shorts and denims, Alia is the undoubted Kendall Jenner of Bollywood. Recently for a shoot with daddy Mahesh Bhatt the Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania wore a sleeveless amber maxi flaunting a bit of her toned legs with that slit. She doubled it up with a sleeveless denim jacket to quirk up this flashy chic number.
Deepshikha Deshmukh, co-producer of the upcoming release Tutak Tutak Tutiya made for a bold move wearing an amber-brown jumpsuit from Bhumika Jyoti for the music launch event. To subdue the OTT amber shine, the lady kept the look minimalistic rounding it up with a pair of golden sandals.
So ladies, bring in this fall/winter with muted earthy tones and be a trendsetter.
