Identify What Triggers The Redness
You need to get to the root of the problem to know why the redness persists, and what bothers your skin, before you pick any OTC product to reduce the redness. What you should do is to take away all the products you use for a while and stop using them. Re-introduce them one at a time, which would then tell you who the culprit is. Maybe a chemical ingredient in one or many products you use doesn’t match the skin type you have.
Even when picking up OTC creams and lotions, you should choose products that are anti-inflammatory. This helps relieve the redness of the skin and brings down the irate skin condition to a large extent. This is one way on how to get rid of rosacea, which the skin aesthetician would tell you.

1. Try Cold Compress
With cold compress, the inflammation is brought down to a large extent and the skin gets a soothing touch too. Place a clean cotton cloth in ice cold water and dab it on the face for a couple of minutes. This would be helpful to do once daily.
2. The Paste of Aspirin
Redness is a headache figuratively speaking, which is why we suggest powdering one aspirin tab and making a paste by adding water to it. Aspirin has salicylic acid in it which is very beneficial for skin issues to seek help from, and the blood vessels that are inflamed can be reduced as well. Apply the paste on the face and wait for half an hour; wash and pat dry with cold water after that. Do this once a week.
3. The Paste of Aloe Vera
As a skin salve, the paste of aloe vera works wonders, and can also help bring down the inflammation on the skin and redness too. Either cut the stem and use the gel as a face mask applying it all over the face gently or use readymade aloe vera gel available in the market. Apply the mask and wait for half an hour, and the redness would fade away. Do this every day, twice a day!
4.The Juice of a Cucumber
The juice of a cucumber has anti-inflammatory properties in it, which is why a chilled frozen cucumber should be juiced and the face should be washed with the juice twice a day. Let the remnants remain on the face for half an hour and then wash off with cold water. You may even place cucumber slices!
5. Coconut Oil Facial
Since coconut oil naturally hydrates and moistens the skin, the emollient in it would help balance the pH levels of the skin too. Use cold oil as a massage agent on the skin and wait for ten minutes. Gently massage when applying the oil, so as to not disrupt the blood vessel movement below the surface of the skin. Do this twice a week for ten minutes and wash off with warm water; pat dry and moisturize with cold cream.
