The stage was set, the designers were ready, the models were ready to fire up the ramp and we were all geared up to witness the magic unfold. As the curtains were raised at the India Couture Week 2016, we waited with bated breath to see what was in store for us this time, as the the opening show was by none other than our favorite designer Manish Malhotra!

Titled ‘The Persian Story’, Manish’s designs were inspired by the stunning Persian architecture, the flora and fauna and the fearless royals that ruled the kingdoms. And as the models sashayed down the ramp in lehengas with sheer tops, exquisite gowns and embroidered jackets, we were left speechless and wanting for more.
Remember the adage ‘save the best for the last’? Well, that’s exactly what happened here as well. The gorgeous Deepika Padukone was the showstopper for Manish’s collection and we must say she was the most befitting person for his royal collection. This combination of Manish Malhotra and Deepika Padukone was pure magic and it is something that you just cannot miss. Scroll down and be prepared to fall in love with both of them again.

We couldn’t decide whether it was the outfit or Deepika who stole our hearts away. The floor length lehenga with its lavish gold embroidery paired with a matching crop top blouse, looked like the dream bridal outfit for the modern bride. The off shoulder crop top blouse adds a level of sexiness while maintaining the royal look. Don’t miss out the beautiful extended trail of the lehenga which is sure to transform you into a royal princess!
Daniel Bauer, the hair and makeup artist was on point with his styling. The sleek yet slightly messy low bun with the loose tendrils was carried off with such grace by Deepika. With kohl rimmed eyes and natural makeup tone, she reminded us of her soft yet fiery Mastaani role.

Giving a tough competition to the golden embroidery were some stunning jewelry pieces by Hazoorilal Jewellers.
Sophie Choudry At ICW 2016
Lending support to her friend at the event was Sophie Choudry who looked nothing short of a showstopper herself. Dressed in her best friend and designer Manish Malhotra’s creation, Sophie looked drop-dead gorgeous! The maroon gown with a plunging neckline framed her figure perfectly. The unique color combination of maroon with shades of brown and bronze speaks of Manish’s impeccable styling, design and vision.
Sophie further enhanced her ball room gown with a statement chunky necklace from Hazoorilal Jewellers. With a side swept dramatic curls hairstyle and smokey eyes, stunning is the only way to describe this multi-talented lass.
