  • Water- 3 cups
  • Steel cut or rolled oatmeal- 1/4 cup
  • Liquid castile soap- 1/4 cup

How to prepare:

  • Place the oatmeal in a glass bowl.
  • Put 3 cups of water in a pan and bring it to a boil.

  • Shea butter soap- 1/2 bar

  • First, roughly chop the soap bar and blend well to make a fine powder.
  • Now put the soap powder and distilled water in a pot and heat it on medium heat till the soap melts. Keep stirring it gently.
  • Once the soap has melted, add coconut oil and allow it to melt as well.
  • In a separate bowl, make a thick slurry of bentonite clay with some cold water.
  • Add the clay slurry slowly and stir well till everything has blended well.
  • Now remove from flame and pour them into the dispensable containers.
  • Shake the mixture every 10 to 15 minutes as the ingredients would try to separate out.
  • Add the neem extract and lavender essential oil once the mixture has cooled down completely.

Because of rosewater presence, the body wash is vulnerable to developing bacteria. Thus, only small portions should be prepared at a time and it is best to keep it in fridge. Without the soap dispenser, the solution may be too watery to use.   • Place this bowl over a double boiler and let them melt. Stir till everything gets blended.
  • Add the castile soap solution gently so that no suds are formed.
  • Now blend in the clay and essential oil till a smooth creamy texture is obtained.
  • Pour into sterilized container and use after allowing it to sit for a week.

What you need:

  • Dove bar soap- 2 bars

  • Geranium essential oil- 12 drops
  • Cheese grater, bowls etc.

How to prepare:

  • Grate the Dove soap bars into a bowl using the cheese grater.
  • Boil the water in a stainless steel pot.
  • Add coconut oil to the grated soap and mix well.
  • Add simmering water to it and mix well with a wooden spoon.
  • Keep stirring occasionally until the soap melts. This may take 7-10 minutes.
  • Heat over a double boiler if required for complete blending and melting.
  • Once the mixture has completely cooled down, add essential oils and transfer into squeezable containers.

Notes: If the mixture becomes too thick, you can add more water until the desired consistency is obtained.
