We always believed that Sari, the quintessential Indian outfit, could only be worn in just one particular way but with every passing fashionable season, our designers prove us wrong by bringing in a wide range of offbeat styles to indulge the sari in.
Recent sightings of the Bollywood ladies doing a 9 yards style has caught our eye and we were amazed by the distinct style patterns with which they clammed up the glam cam.
Looking comfortable yet fancy in indigo colored stripes ‘Lohori’ sari by Maku, Kalki Koechlin was too good to look away from. The stripes going vertical on the blouse and horizontal on the waistline is a perfect way of elevating her height and making her curves more luscious. With just a pair of jhumkas and cool blue shades, neat vintage bun, she closed her avatar. Kalki surely inspired us to chuck aside floral prints and go stripes with our sari styles.
Still struggling with wearing a sari perfectly? It’s time to switch to drape style sari like Pooja Hegde. At a recent event, Pooja was spotted doing a Nupur Kanoi drape sari with beaded high-necked blouse. With neelkamal earrings and bracelet by Sunita Shekhawat, along with sleek ponytail and flawless makeup, she looked picturesque.
Chiffon saris, floral print saris and many more have created fancy fashion chapters for quite a while now and adding one more to the collection was Taapsee Pannu. The diva was spotted recently while promoting her upcoming Tollywood film in an Aharin sari. To a solid toned sari with contrast prints, we expected a simple, plain blouse but Taapsee did a heavily embroidered jacket style blouse along with a belt. Sleek hair bun and crystal clear makeup rounded her ethnic look. Since the sari and blouse were overloaded, she went minimalist with accessories and that’s a wise fashion move.
