The moment anyone says Malaysia, we can’t help but sing along the Malaysia tourism jingle – Malaysia truly Aisa. It’s like we grew up to this jingle!
So, anyway!! Last night the main IIFA award night finally happened and we had our eyes glued to the internet and TV. Any little update and we kept you guys posted on our Facebook and Instagram (By the way, are you guys following us on instagram? We are @fashionladyblog. Show us some love, please!)
So, major trends we noticed were the colours that ruled the red carpet – black, shades of white (off white, half white, ivory and cream) and last but not the least – RED! (Read here: The Little Red Dress: Move over LBD, Here comes the LRD)
While everyone went the gown way, there was one woman who draped the 9 yards and looked stunning! We just don’t have words to tell you how magnificent she looked in a saree! Stood out, owned the red carpet and dominated the press. Need we say more? We are talking about the gorgeous Deepika Padukone!!! Uff teri adaa!
Let’s start our post now!!
This leggy lass who arrived a bit late to the festivities due to work commitments wore a beautiful red sequined saree by Sabyasachi Mukherjee and completed her look with a classic bun, bold eyebrows, red lips and gold earrings. WE LOVE!!
You know those girls who would look stunning in just rags? Neha is one of them! In a P.E.L.L.A (one of the 6 designers who show cased their creation at Lakme Fashion Week) outfit, she looked stunning! Completing her look were golden metallic ankle strap pumps and a LOVE box clutch. Very suave!
Malaika Arora Khan
This beaut left her trustworthy form fitting dresses a miss this time, and opted for a ball gown sort dress by Ashi Studio. Pulled back hair, jewellery by Anmol and sparkly Louboutins completed her look. Loving the black nails!
For Ms Fernandes it was an Anamika Khanna outfit at the IIFA green carpet. Red lips and earrings from Goenka jewellers completed her look. We like!
Giving us another red look was Dia Mirza. In her Shantanu and Nikhil gown she looked very elegant. Completing her look were Greek style hair-do, jewels from Farah Ali Khan and metallic pumps.
Huma Qureshi also wore a stunning Gauri and Nainika gown for the IIFA green carpet that accentuated her curves rather well. Diamond earrings from Farah Ali Khan and red lips completed her look. Like?
All hail this beauty! Giving her black numbers a rest, Ms. Haydon walked the green carpet in a beautiful Gaurav Gupta cut-out dress. Messy updo, matching jewellery, dark nails and ankle straps finished her look. You like?
Farah Ali from Dil Dhadkne Do wore a layered gown from Gauri and Nainika and looked like gorgeous! Keeping it very simple, she finished her look with matching red lips and soft curls
The Dabangg girl wore a Monisha Jaising gown to the IIFA green carpet and showed off her well-toned body. Risqué bodice, thigh slight along with red lips finished her look. What do you guys think about it?
Sharaddha was one of those few girls along with Sona who wore black to the green carpet. In her simple Mason gown with thigh slit, she looked nice. Smoky eyes, side swept hair and ankle straps completed her look. We are kinda liking the simple look!
Another Gauri and Nainika dress was worn by our bong babe Bipasha Basu. Plunging necklines are really her thing and she carried this dress really well! Poker straight hair and red lips completed her look. BTW, we are liking her thigh slit. Is it the new trend?

Now, now. She didn’t wear black, white or red. This nawabi kudi wore a gorgeous ball gown sorts of dress by Shantanu and Nikhil and looked like a princess! Soft waves and ox-blood lips completed her look. She looked good!
Now that this is done, we can’t help but wonder – where was Sonam Kapoor? And Kareena Kapoor? Work commitments eh? We know Kangana doesn’t attend award shows but what about the Kapoor girls?
