Nita Ambani: The Fashionable Corporate India’s First Lady

Belonging to a middle class family from the suburbs of Mumbai, she aspired to be a classical dancer and graduated in Commerce – She is, Nita Ambani, touted as  “Corporate India’s First Lady”, the wife of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, co-owner of Mumbai Indians IPL team and the founder & chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School.

Along with being a teacher and interior designer, she has become the favorite fashion icon of the media and makes headlines wherever she goes! Her fashionable wardrobe, chic handbags and glamorous accessories have become the talk of the town.

Blessed with a glowing and flawless complexion, she is a fair maiden with a wholesome figure and natural curves. Prior to her whopping weight loss of 30 kilos, she dressed in simple salwar kameez and always kept a low profile. But after her magical transformation, she looks svelte and beautiful and has set the social circuit on fire with her new-found glamor and style statement.

She is known for her love of crimson and has been often seen attending important occasions in variations of crimson colored Sarees. Her Gujarati background reflects in the designs as well as draping style of the saree. One of her favorite Indian designer is Abu Jani – Sandeep Khosla who churns out stunning Indian attires for her in succession.

She is also known for her opulent and traditional jewelery which comprise of big jhumkas, heavy pendants and chunky bangles.

She has turned into a fashionista who holds an “It Bag” collection which comprises of big brands and labels: Hermes, Goyard, Chanel, Roger vivier, Jimmy Choo which are monogrammed in style. Her Judith Leiber Ganesha clutch is one the most glamorous bags from her glorious collection.

At 48, she has an aura of glamour and power which reflects in the way she carries herself. Owing to her middle-class values and conservative Gujarati background, she used to shy away from wearing western outfits in public. But, now the tables have turned and she walks with elan in her knee length dresses and floor length gowns in exquisite cuts and subtle colors.

As the co-owner of Mumbai Indians, the coveted IPL team, she is a regular in the cricket stadium and makes a casual style statement with her track suits, simple tees and jeans.

Thanks to her ever-growing popularity, she has made it as the cover girl on leading fashion magazines like Femina, People, Verve (along with husband Mukesh Ambani), L’Officiel’s. She has also done a special cover page photo for Hello Magazine with her daughter Nisha in a  beautiful cream colored saree with a rich red border.

She walked the ramp at Mijwan Sonnets in fabric 2012 fashion show in a peach and gold ghaghra.

Her lifestyle is the incarnation of luxury and grandeur starting from her billion dollar residence Antilla to the jet she was gifted by her husband on her birthday!
