Remedy 1: Garlic
Garlic’s strong fragrance is enough to kill and knock off the lice.

- 7 – 8 Garlic Cloves
- 2 – 3 teaspoons Lemon Juice
Method: Grind garlic cloves and mix the paste with lemon juice. Now apply this on the scalp and after half an hour wash off your hair with lukewarm to hot water.
There is another option too which works.

- Garlic juice
- Green tea
- Shampoo and conditioner
Method: Combine garlic juice with lemon extract, cooking oil, green tea and put a few drops of shampoo and conditioner into this concoction. Make a thick paste out of it and apply it on the lice-infected scalp. Leave a shower cap on your scalp for 30 minutes and then wash your hair with a regular shampoo. Keep repeating this remedy once a week for at least one to two months.

Remedy 2: Baby Oil
Baby oil is equally versatile. It not only nourishes the skin but suffocates the head lice too.

- Baby oil
- Laundry detergent
- Hot water
Put a few drops of baby oil to your scalp and start combing your hair. This will naturally lead the lice to fall off from your head. Now wash off your tresses with laundry detergent and hot water. Before going off to sleep, put few drops of vinegar on your hair and cover your head with a towel or shower cap. Let it stay overnight. Next morning, shampoo your hair and follow it up with a decent conditioner. Repeat this for minimum 3-4 days to get optimum results.
Remedy 3: Olive Oil
Olive oil has proved its excellence beyond kitchen too. It is as good in killing head lice as much as in oil massage.

- Olive oil
- Herbal shampoo
Method: Before going off to bed, massage olive oil onto your scalp in good measure. Put on a towel or shower cap so that the oil stays on your hair. Next morning, comb your hair to take out the stuck parasites from your scalp and wash off with a herbal shampoo having tea tree oil.

- Half cup conditioner
- Liquid soap
Method: Mix half cup of olive oil with half cup conditioner and mix some liquid soap into it. Now apply it onto your hair and leave it for an hour. Rinse your hair and follow it up with a conditioner. Repeat this remedy once in seven days to get effective results.
Remedy 4: Petroleum Jelly
PJ (on a humorous note) is tough on lice and there is no joking around.

- Petroleum jelly
- Towel or a shower cap
- Baby oil
Method: Before going off to sleep, apply petroleum jelly in good amount to the scalp. Cover your head with a towel or a shower cap and let it stay overnight. Next morning, use baby oil in order to remove the petroleum jelly. Then comb your hair so that the lice can be removed. Repeat this for a couple of nights to get results.
Remedy 5: Salt
Edible salt is not only good in foods it is equally so in removing head lice.

- One-quarter cup salt
- One-quarter cup vinegar
- Shower cap
Method: Combine salt with one-quarter cup of vinegar. Spray the solution onto your hair so that the hair gets a bit wet. Put on a shower cap and let it rest on your hair for 2 hours. Now wash and condition your hair and do this exercise after every three days to get positive results.
Remedy 6: Tea Tree Oil
The best part about using tea tree oil is that it is a natural insecticide, so it wipes out lice efficiently.

- 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil
- 3 tablespoons of coconut or olive oil
- Shower cap or towel
