The last destination wedding we virtually attended was Kalki Koechlin’s reel wedding in Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani. Agreed, that the wedding was very ‘reel’, but there was nothing that we didn’t like about it. Everything about that wedding felt so right. From the pre wedding functions to two people falling in love, the wedding saw everything.
The dreamy nuptials had us wondering if such things happened in real life, and as if on cue, Sanjay Hinduja announced his wedding. Heir to a multi-billion dollar legacy, Sanjay Hinduja left no stone unturned to have his big fat Indian wedding and pleasing his lady love Anusuya Mahtani.
Who?
Oil tycoon Sanjay Hinduja married ace fashion designer Anusuya Mahtani in a lavish wedding at Udaipur this week. Spending a whooping amount of 15 million pounds, the couple made sure that their wedding would be the wedding of the century.
Where?
Well, trying to keep it as traditional as possible, the bride and groom selected a place that was very desi and close to their hearts. Considering the fact that they already live in United Kingdom, having an exotic wedding in Thailand or Mauritius was not even an option. So they packed their bags and came to Udaipur (Jagmandir Island Palace) to unite themselves in holy matrimony.
Who was invited?
You name it and they were present. From crème de la crème of Bollywood to business tycoons, to fashion designers to family and friends. Every one witnessed the grand wedding and had truckloads of fun during the three day extravaganza.

A total of 700 guests attended the wedding. Rumour has it that the Dabok airport had a tough time managing so many people. Accommodating 208 chartered planes seemed like a task to the airport authorities!

Highlights
Apart from being a destination wedding, there were a lot of other things that made the wedding memorable. One of them being J. Lo’s performance. To entertain the guests at his wedding, Mr Hinduja flew Jennifer Lopez and her crew to Udaipur, which costed him 2 million dollars! Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls fame was also seen entertaining the guests and uploading pictures of herself on social media wearing a beautiful saree. Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor also danced to the tunes of Tune Mari Entriyan along with Nicole.

Then there was that lavish spread of food that the guest couldn’t stop talking about. With a total of 16 cuisines cooked by the best chefs, Hinduja made sure that every guest of his was well served.

Celebrations
The wedding celebrations started in Mumbai at the Taj Mahal Palace. Followed by a pool side mehandi party for the bride in the Jaimandir Udaipur palace and then a loud sangeet party for the guests at the lawns of the palace.
