One can never go wrong with the classic black and white combination. Celebrities, for a long time now have been high on the monochrome trend.
This year too was no exception. Along with a whole lot of magic being weaved in all black and all white looks, the royalty of the monochrome was well restored by our tinsel town beauties.
Interpreting the monochrome fervour in their own ways, designers, stylists and divas surprised us with a host of drool worthy looks.

Special hearts for the girls who rocked the trend with complimenting hints of pastels. That is surely a take away from this year’s black and white appearances.
If you are in that monochromatic zone then we suggest you take a cue from this list
Top Monochrome Looks, 2016.
Sonam Kapoor
For Sonam Kapoor, this year was all about whites, blacks and monochromes. The lady gave us a whole lot of inspiration to go the no color way.
Carrying her usual larger than life persona, Sonam made for a gorgeous red carpet appearance in a voluminous gown from Stephane Rolland Haute Couture. Stylist Rhea Kapoor complimented the silhouette drama with chunky solitaire earrings while Namrata Soni rendered Sonam a pretty face and a bright pout.
Sonam slayed us with monochrome suit-up this year. Taking the whole pant suit a notch higher this fashionista stunned us not once but on two occasions with her manned up appearance.
For the trailer launch of 24 the lady gave us a power packed look all suited up in Dice Kayak.

At the Hindustan Times Most Stylish, Sonam looked Leh-Gendary donning a more edgier and improvised version of the classic pant suit from Dice Kayak. Sonam sealed the look carrying a Corto Moltedo clutch.
Earlier this year at Cannes, for the L’oreal Media Interactions, Sonam Kapoor went the monochromatic way in Dior separates. High waist coupled with off shoulder in black and white treated our fashion soaring eyes well.

Lisa Haydon
We spotted Lisa weaving that monochromatic magic at the Vogue BFF’s show, where she was accompanied by her bestie Tarun Tahiliani. The dusky lass surely did not disappoint her designer friend, looking absolutely stunning in Atsu Sekhose. The striped number with its unique halter neckline and high slits rendered the slender beauty much charm and attitude.
Freida Pinto
We have always been a fan of this Indian beauty’s exotic appeal and that classy personal style. While on her press tour in Europe for the brand she endorses, Audemars Piguet, Frieda gave us a pleasant monochrome surprise. Dressed in B&W striped separates from Ferragamo, Freida along with stylist Tanya Ghavri redefined class. Keeping her warm was the white Ferragamo trench.
Vaani Kapoor
For one of the promotional events, Vaani Kapoor worked her Befikre attitude, donning H&M separates. Heart the way stylists Nikhil Thampi and Mohit Rai channeled her carefree energy with that re-imagined boyfriend white shirt.
Bipasha Basu
At India’s favourite culinary show, Masterchef, Bipasha Basu cooked up a mesmerizing monochrome story. Donning an off shoulder gown from Gauri and Nainika, the lady added some extra spice with that ruffled white trail. Styling credits to Amy Patel.
Kangana Ranaut
Kangana revived her retro charm wearing a vintage floral dress from Dolce and Gabbana at the Press conference of the Mumbai Film Festival this year. Stylist Ami Patel summed up her classic retro summer look with cross earrings from D&G and a rose pinned onto her bun.
Kareena Kapoor
This mommy-to-be is on a fashion high. Kareena radiated some monochrome ethnic glamour in a Payal Khandwala ensemble. The begum gave us all the inspiration to ditch the usual brights and go the monochrome way for our next ethnic dress up.
Sonakshi Sinha
Beating Monday blues in Monday Monochromes, Sonakshi made a statement appearance while promoting Force2 in Dubai. The black and white, Gauri and Nainika number flaunted the lady’s curves just right. Stylist Mohit Rai took the look a notch higher with that silver Pippa Bella neckpiece. Good job Sona.

A yet another monochrome look from Sonakshi’s Force 2 promotional wardrobe deserves some special attention. The diva cut a pretty picture in a striped shirt dress from Marks and Spencers. Rocking casual chic with much sophistication we liked this one by stylist Aastha Sharma.
Parineeti Chopra
Exuding her playful and chirpy vibe, Parineeti gave us a fun interpretation of monochrome at the Suzuki event earlier this year in Goa. Playing along with that relaxed Goan spirit, the woman opted for a white caption tee paired with a black and white chevron print Madison On Peddar nautical skirt. Parineeti added a dash of color to her black and white ensemble with a pair of attention seeking fluorescent peeps from Aldo.
Deepika Padukone
Deepika added some extra inches to her slender frame wearing vertical monochrome stripes from Intermix. We heart that pop of blue color footwear, added by stylist Shaleena Nathani.
