Start of this week, we gave you a detailed post about how saree was making a major come back (actually it was never gone). Then today, we have these two ladies – Konkona Sen Sharma and Swara Bhaskar – wearing Chanderi saree’s at different events!
So one thing is clear, scorching summer heat or hail storms, saree is THE most favourite attire for our B-town ladies. Guess what lesson it teaches us? When in doubt – wear a saree! You can wear it to every and any occasion and look whatever you want to!
For example – a chiffon saree with a barely there blouse for a cocktail party, a cotton/chanderi saree for a meeting, a silk saree for a wedding. The only thing that changes perhaps is how modestly you drape it and what type of blouse you wear.
Check out two different styles of saree draping in the same material – Chanderi!
Konkona Sen Sharma
In a midnight blue chanderi saree, Konkona Sen Sharma attended a recent press launch. Keeping the entire look very simple, she teamed up her saree with a very old school white blouse and completed the look with a leather sling bag. The only make up she had on was slight trace of lipstick and kohl in her eyes. We totally like! We would probably change the blouse depending on the occasion but we LOVE!
After watching her in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, hum toh bhai fan hogaye! At Mukhesh Chabbra’s birthday bash, Swara wore the traditional black chanderi saree and teamed it up with a beige multi coloured polka dot blouse. Curly hair and minimal make up completed her look. She looked fab!!
On a side note – do you guys wonder what this saree would have looked like with a black blouse? Because black and black go hand in hand?
This is what it would look like!
