Hair plays a prominent role in determining our overall appearance. And while healthy, shiny and well-maintained hair can enhance a mundane outfit, a few gray hairs can completely ruin your look. Hair follicles, from where hair grows from the skin, comprise of pigment known as melanin. When the production of this pigment reduces or stops, whitening occurs. Those colorless hairs when get mixed with dark hairs offer a gray look, resulting from pigment dilution.

2. Improper diet

In one of my previous posts I had mentioned how healthy diet is essential to maintain flawless skin, in the same way proper diet is essential for healthy hair. Whitening of hair is caused due to deficiency of Vitamin B12, so it becomes necessary for you to add foods that are laden with Vitamin B12. If you are wondering what food to eat for healthy hair, I suggest you include milk, cheese, egg, salmon, tuna, lamb etc in your daily diet.

3. High level of stress

Stress has now become one of the deadening factors that is deteriorating our health, and hair is no exception.

How to reduce white hair naturally?

Graying of hair is a phenomenon that cannot be avoided. However, the process can be slowed down with these simple tips. Yes, you can get rid of white hair by:

1. Adding more fresh juices to your diet

Add fresh fruit and vegetable juices to your diet and also replace your soft drinks with these healthy drinks, especially carrot, alfaalfa and lettuce. Carrot is is answer to one of the frequently asked questions – How to make hair healthy? You can also go for wheat sprouts.

2. Coconut oil

Coconut oil is one of the best natural dietary supplements for hair. In order to bring in best results you can add curry leaves to the oil and then apply the oil mix religiously for 3 months. Do not forget to give a 15-minute massage to your scalp with this oil.

3. Mix of almond oil & amla juice

This is one of the most tried and tested remedies for reducing whitening of hair. All you need to do is gently massage the mixture on your scalp for 15 minutes, thrice a week.

4. Onion juice

I’ve already mentioned about onion juice in one of my previous posts. Onion juice is a terrific natural remedy for grey hair. Simply rub a piece of onion on your scalp or apply its juice. In order to get rid of the smell, you can add a mix of lemon juice, rose water and 1/2 an orange.
