Working a trend is for mango people. Making trends is what fashionistas do.

A lot of hard work goes into defying the trending elements and defining all new goals. Backed by a core team of stylists, our tinsel town ladies continue to experiment with their deck ups. While some pleasantly surprise us and delight us, some are subjected to criticism.

Scroll down to see how the divas off-roaded last month wandering for new horizons, treating us with Off-beat looks that could well go on to become front-runners in setting new benchmarks this season.

We certainly hope you bend them and remould them for more jaw-dropping appearances.

1. Priyanka Chopra

Not every celebrity becomes an international superstar. Pee Cee is one tinsel town starlet who has proved her worth with her fame and fans stretching across oceans. At the Marie Claire Power Trip dinner most recently, Priyanka channeled her playful side most gorgeously wearing a pretty lavender Balmain tutu. Cute and chic, Priyanka owned this look giving all the PYT’s major goals. Free flowing tresses and a natural looking face added on to this minimalistic yet beautiful look.

2. Deepika Padukone

At the closing ceremony of MAMI, Deepika Padukone caused some major envy wearing an all green look. Beaming in a shining green pantsuit from the house Monisha Jaising, Deepika struck lightning. With some cleavage show and a pair of long YSL earrings, the woman looked all set to rule the red carpet. We loved the outfit and this color deviation, picked and styled by celebrity stylist Shaleena Nathani. A slick back hair updo rendered by hair stylist Namrata added more glory to this queen’s envious appearance.

3. Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt off-loaded much cuteness onto our screens wearing a chic loungewear from Erdem for H&M at the premiere of Aamir’s latest, Secret Superstar. The monochrome outfit picked up by stylist Ami Patel sported pretty floral scatters in white, on a black escapade. We love how the jumpsuit got an instant lift with white rims outlining the pockets, shoulder stitch and button strip. Belted at the waist, and with her tresses twirled up into a relaxed man bun, Alia looked pretty and cute at her movie night.

4. Natasha Poonawala

Socialite, Natasha Poonawala is known for her distinct statement style. At the Diwali party this year, Natasha was fireworks, wearing an “orange” hot look. To ensure a worthy ethnic appearance at Diwali soiree’s, Natasha wore a more rusted orange lehenga and choli set from the house of designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The beaming tone somewhere between camel and orange was a good pick as it totally complemented Natasha’s skin tone. Flaunting her toned abs and with the choli adding all the glamour to this glitterati, we have to admit, this off-beat lehenga set had Natasha looking like a million bucks.

5. Aditi Rao Hydari

A trend is worn by many, but only a true fashionista can wear it the unforgettable way. We are all praises for actress Aditi Rao Hydari’s tye and dye appearance. To binge on the trending print, the woman with help from stylist Sukriti Grover channeled a relaxed athleisure vibe wearing a jogger and jacket set in cool blue from the designer house, Hemant and Nandita. With her joggers dragged a tad higher from her ankle, and her tresses left open casually, Aditi looked chic and effortlessly radiant.

Designer Punit Balana is making a swift entry into the wardrobes of our B-town beauties. Spotted at the Mumbai film festival was actress Sayani Gupta, wearing a saree from the designer’s collection. The amalgamation of the striped saree with checked blouse set in a beautiful green and white tone looked bold and beautiful. Taking sarees out of their typical ethnic feels and putting right onto our fashion radar, this elegant number got us thinking, giving us all new goals to carry a saree for a more formal and statement look. Credits to stylist Shreeja Rajgopal for picking up this wonder and styling it up to the T, keeping the look more straight face, rounding it up with a top knot.
