Day 3 Rendered Mostly Gender Equal Styles
Day 3 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 was all about statement pieces and haute couture. With every designer showcasing their artistic themes, we barely had time to look away from the runway.

Anaam
‘Janaza’ designer Sumiran Kabir Sharma exhibited his collection by the name Anaam in the color palette of black and purple. He played with the shades endlessly by merging them into multiple separates which weren’t gender specific. From layered gown, short capes over separates, to dhoti styles in flowing fabric, every piece was unique in its own way. Simply loved the mesh cast over the model’s faces with their own tresses! That’s creative, don’t you agree?
ASA
Shreya Oza’s ASA collection was thoroughly anti-fit and relaxed in soothing summer colors. Layering theme, fringe trend and many more were blended into this Summer/Resort collection effortlessly. Most of the collection comprised of stripes and zig-zag prints in sunny orange, leaf green, and light grey. Fringed tops, pants, kimono over maxi, and biker’s jacket over pant are few styles that caught our eye.
Bloni
Akshat Bansal chose to showcase his collection on the theme ‘Mourning of the Marine Life’. He focused on creating gender-neutral styles in mix linen, a delicate Japanese lace, and sustainable fabrics created from regenerated marine plastic waste promoting the concept of sustainable fashion. Ranging from blazers over textured camis, bizarre jackets, frayed patterned outfits, and floor-length ensembles, the collection surely was eye-catchy. Priyanka Bose walked the ramp for the designer in a black flowing floor-length outfit in black, depicting perfectly the mourning theme.
Amoh By Jade
The designer duo, Monica Shah, and Karishma Swali, brought the beauty of Odisha into their collection. Inspired by the mountain God, Niyam Raja from the Niyamgiri hill in Odisha, they created their exquisite collection in flowing, organic in ivory shades. Created in chanderis and mulmuls along with delicate embroideries of flowers, peacocks and golden leaves that stood out in vivid colors, the collection was soothing, appealing and trendy. Having designs ranging from off-shoulder tops over long flowing skirts to straight fit pants and tunic, and dhoti pants, we believe that it is one collection to visit this summer.
Kalki Koechlin walked the ramp in support of the designers in an ivory colored textured skirt and an off-shoulder top looking absolutely gorgeous.
Gaurang
Gaurang’s collection always touches various nodes of traditions and culture. This Summer/Resort 2018, Gaurang presented his collection titled as ‘Neel’ throwing an enchanting spell on the runway. Although the outfits looked heavy loaded, every piece was uniquely crafted to be light in weight and definitely in shades of indigo. He used his favorite technique called the Jamdaani and fused it beautifully with block prints. Delicate embroidery, rich fabric, and beautiful silhouettes defined his collection royally.
Ka-Sha By Karishma Shahani Khan
Themed ‘Love Story’, the Ka-Sha by Karishma Shahani Khan makes you absolutely fall in love with it. The designer intermixed bright to sober hues in delightful patterns and won great appreciation. Ranging from french knots, gold or silver hand painting to floral tassels, the designer did an excellent job in incorporating fabric embroidery into her designs promoting zero waste. From pure cotton to khadi and chanderi, every creation looked wearable and marvelous.
431-88 By Shweta Kapur
Titled ‘Collection 11’, 431-88 by Shweta Kapur’s compilation was just party-ready styles in satin fabrics and sequined finish outfits. With glitzy embellishments, every style turned into a disco style. The color palette included bright reds, classic blacks, soft whites along with vibrant gold, metallic chromes, silver etc. From pant styles, skirt styles, drapes, and dresses, the collection was purely entertaining and engaging.
Falguni And Shane Peacock
Titled ‘The Louche’, Falguni and Shane Peacock experimented for the first time with menswear collection. They played smartly with a mixed unconventional color palette and incorporated embellished jackets, bombers, skin fit trousers encouraging new-age styles. While Sonakshi Sinha opened the show dressed in a bralet and suit in black, Karan Johar rounded it off in the silver and black ensemble.
Diana Penty was spotted at the show extending her support to the designers dressed in their label. With a neatly pinned ponytail, dark lip hue and black block heels, she rounded the style.
The Woolmark Company Presents Slowing Down Of Fast Fashion
The Woolmark Company and Manish Malhotra displayed their concept of sustainable fashion at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 in a natural fiber Merino wool called ‘Inaya’. From saris, bandhgalas, to sherwanis, every creation involved motifs, tilla and zari embroidery from Kashmir in classic jewel tones.
Yami Gautam walked the ramp for the designer in a richly designed metallic grey and black combination sari. With sleek hairdo, metallic eye makeup and nude lips, she looked absolutely stunning.
Tarun Tahiliani
From the background to the set up of the runway, Tarun Tahiliani rendered his majestic creative skills. Keeping the backdrop dark and with mirrors, he created an illusion of a world beyond imagination with the reflecting lights. His collection ‘Tarakini’ was equally divine like in beige and ivory shades along with beadwork, Resham work. Wonderful embellishments and embroideries on the lightweight fabrics was a pure display of art.
Kriti Sanon glided down the runway as the showstopper in a rich multi-colored roses embroidered outfit looking like a goddess.

Day 4 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 Was Celebrity Overloaded And Whimsical
Sustainable fashion was all Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 was about. Giving us major goals to redefine the make and take of every trend, the LFW 2018 was both bright and bold.
The day 4 of the renowned fashion show left us spellbound. From newcomers to veteran designers, every creation was worth stealing glances. Enjoy the fashion platter of day 4 here with us-
Aikeyah
We are not new to the trend of ruffles and lace but Aikeyah brought much more charm to the concept by incorporating rich texture and silhouettes. The collection was mostly monochrome in shades of black and white. Be it jackets, sarees, flowing gowns, or even shimmering tops, the collection was every bit unique and breathtakingly beautiful. Even though it’s the designer’s first show, it was surely impressive.
Saksha Kinni
Bringing the rich, royal cultural heritage of Gujarat to the limelight was the collection of Saaksha & Kinni. Bandhani prints, batik prints and dark floral patterns were major features of their collection. And with silhouettes, the designers experimented their theme with skirts, crop tops, capes, pants, and maxis in silk and satin fabric choices. Layering unique pieces to form extremely interesting outfits, Saaksha & Kinni collection was both peppy and feminine.
Verandah
Opening the show with dhols, the Verandah collection gushed out turning the mood playful, fun and vibrant. In summer embracing fabrics, colorful prints and anti-fit silhouettes, the collection beautifully portrayed a spring vacation. It felt more like gazing a glamour filled album.
Diana Penty was spotted in support of Studio Verandah dressed in separates from their new collection. Love the color fusion!
Anushree Reddy
Anushree Reddy’s lehengas have always been every bride’s dream. And this Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018, the designer is back again with her celestial creation in pretty pastel hues. With embroidery like tone-on-tone threadwork, zardozi detailing and pearl embroidery, she created magical wedding styles in khadi cotton, pure silk, and organza. From blush tones to yellows and many more, she turned the runway into a wedding celebration.
Sania Mirza was the showstopper for Anushree Reddy and the diva was dressed beautifully in pastel-colored shimmering lehenga choli with sheer dupatta.
Sva By Sonam & Paras Modi
SVA couture by Sonam and Paras Modi was impressive and entertaining in the usual silhouettes of lehenga, sarees, pants styles and cape styles. Using whites, blues, oranges, golds, and creams, the duo designers rendered a heavenly compilation. Every outfit had intricate details that although looked overwhelming was beautifully portrayed.
Shriya Som
Shriya Som chose shades of ivory for their Summer/Resort 2018 collection. From shimmering jackets, floral applique filled dresses, tiered dresses, to ruffled gowns, every style was dressy and chic.
Disha Patani walked the ramp for the designer in a cream-colored off-shoulder ruffled gown and made all the heads turn her way. Dreamy and sensuous was the diva with a minimalist approach.
Caprese x Nishka Lulla
Nishka Lulla’s presentation seemed like a garden of roses. Pink seemed to be the color of the season for the designer. Collaborating with Caprese, the designer showcased trendy, chic collection of styles in punches of pink.
Looking lovely in a shot of pink was Saiyami Kher who walked the ramp for the designer. With her lovely curly tresses looking natural, and with a Caprese mini sling bag, she rounded her style.
Sanjukta Dutta
Sanjukta Dutta’s collection was a true inspiration from the traditions of North East India. With a perfect blend of art, culture and history was each style crafted by the designer for the LFW 2018.
Dia Mirza walked the ramp for the designer dressed every bit traditional in a yellow sari along with a full sleeved red blouse. Heavy traditional jewelry, red bindi and vintage style hairdo accentuated the beauty of the style.
Ashwini Reddy
Titled ‘Tilottama’, a pure inspiration from the Apsaras, the angels of light from Hindu mythology, Ashwini Reddy brought heaven on earth through her designs at LFW Summer/Resort 2018. From fusion compilations to bridal themes, the designer played with a strong color palette of reds, blues, golds, yellows, pinks, blues and pastel notes.
Tamannaah Bhatia was the showstopper for the designer. She dressed up gorgeous in an iconic red and golden ensemble. Love the ruffled sleeve add-ons and the richly embroidered lehenga.
Shloka Sudhakar
Edgy yet feminine, bringing a twist to the indo-western styles were the creations of Shloka Sudhakar at the Lakme Fashion Week 2018. Easy looking styles from dhoti pants, sari gowns, capes, shirts and lehengas, Shloka Sudhakar’s compilation was truly catchy.
Nidhhi Agerwal walked the ramp setting it on fire in a pastel pink and blue lehenga. With a flower clipped into her hair, big hoop earrings, she added a fancy twist to her style.
Reshma Kunhi
Titled “Lotus’ by Reshma Kunhi, the collection showcased at the LFW 2018 turned the runway into a blooming garden. Ranging from skirts, dresses, lehengas, dhoti pants and many more, every piece was beautifully detailed with zari work, thread work and metal accents, tassels, and pleats. In bright floral colors like royal blue, peacock blue, violet, magenta, greens, pinks and reds, the runway was colorful.
Bipasha Basu was the showstopper for the designer. She dressed up grandly in a red one-shouldered, one-sleeved sharara set. With her bouncy wavy hair adding volume to her style and matte finished red lips, she looked hot and fiery.
Payal Singhal
Payal Singhal chose to bring the Islamic wedding styles to light this Summer/Resort 2018 Lakme Fashion Week. Named ‘Saira’, the collection comprised of a fusion of rich fabrics, intricate patterns like jaali work, filigree and antique embroidery on modern day silhouettes like dhoti saris, kurtas, and jackets with lehengas.
The beautiful diva who won great applause for her spectacular performance in Padmaavat, Aditi Rao Hydari walked the ramp in a silver-colored heavily embroidered outfit for the designer. With traditional jewelry, wavy hair, she looked celestial.

Kotwara
Royal and elegant were the designs of the House of Kotwara at the LFW 2018. The label redefined the classic chikankari separates to much enticing contemporary patterns. Mostly designed in shades of whites, the styles gleamed with zardozi, mukaish and aari work beautifully crafted on them. From crop jackets, capris to shararas and kurtas, every design was beautiful in its own way.
Sushmita Sen walked the ramp for the designer. She began her walk to the tune ‘in aankhonki masti mein’ and created magic on the ramp with her picturesque look. In cream toned richly designed bridal style with traditional jewelry, Sushmita was spectacular.
Princess Pea x Lovebirds
Lovebirds in collaboration with Princess Pea displayed their collection with the model chanting ‘whataboutme’ all along the show. From tailored pants to roomy dresses in reds, blues, black, creams with polka dots prints, the collection was everything one might want to add to their summer collection.
Shantanu & Nikhil
Lastly, the show ended with a bang with the presentation of Shantanu & Nikhil. The designer duo brought gender neutral clothing to light with color blocking patterns. From bandhgala jackets, draped kurtas, sherwanis, and coats to women’s elegant gowns, saris, capes, the collection was purely entertaining and fashionable. Tribal styles accessories were added to the show to gender blending styles. Saif Ali Khan walked the ramp for the designer looking dapper in a black and metallic gray suit.
All in all, day 4 of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 was celebrity loaded and fashionable too!
