Yesterday the country faced a tragic loss. The death of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam hit us like a bolt of lightning. The fact that he passed away, while doing one of the things he loves, speaks volumes about his dedication and hard work towards his field of interest – education.
At the age of 83, Former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was one of the few brilliant people, who dedicated their life to science and research.
Did you guys know? He wasn’t too keen on joining politics. Truth be told, he was a bit reluctant about it. His main aim and pleasure in life was to find out more and more about aerospace engineering, physics and fluid dynamics.
Before becoming the 11th President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam worked at Defence Research & Development Organisation and Indian Space Research Organisation. Well, he wasn’t called #MissileMan for no reason now, right?
After 40 years of service in these fields, he decided to change the course of his life. Little did he know, he would be helping thousands more?
Under Dr. Abdul Kalam’s presidency, the country thrived and strived. His main aim was to spread the word out – education is foremost and important. He made it his life’s sole mission to help people understand how important education can be and how ignorance must be dealt with.
His urge to help girl child and his initiatives on the same subject matter changed the lives of many – literally!

There was one powerful quote by him that keeps resonating in our mind. He had said “Dream is not that you see in sleep, dream is something that does not let you sleep“. Simply put, he had asked us all to stop making excuses and start working towards a better tomorrow.
Sir, may your soul rest in peace. Your memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
