People often associate the fashion scene in India with the cities of Mumbai and Delhi and hence we have teenagers who aspire to make it big in the Industry having to move to institutes based out of these prominent fashion hubs. Owing to increased numbers though it’s the quality of knowledge and that individual attention that suffers. With an increasing knowledge and market gap, there lies a need for more institutes imparting quality skill set across the country.
One Institute that realized this gap about 24 years ago is Hyderabad’s Hamstech Institute of Fashion And Interior Design. Established in the year 1992, the institute has set a firm ground today having rendered more than 12,000 professionals in the Fashion Industry. The institute has further spread its wing to include a Jewelry Design course to their curriculum.
What truly sets them apart is their commitment to providing quality knowledge and nourishing the creativity of these budding designers. The faculty here understands that every individual has its own skill set and imagination and hence allows them to grow under their expert guidance. This not only builds up the confidence of the students but allows them to evolve with the changing markets.

Hyderabad is indeed blessed to have an institute which has been quietly doing its job right and letting their students create a roar in the industry with their work.
The Director, Ms.Ajitha Yogesh Kumar deserves a special mention for her relentless effort towards designing a better and more practical curriculum. Understanding that in such a dynamic industry imparting only theoretical knowledge is not enough, she decided to create a platform to launch her students in the fraternity and to give them first hand sales experience.
Hence was born, Hamstech’s annual exhibition-cum-sale, Calantha. Today with a new name and a much wider audience and attendee list, this event is recognized as The HLabel.com Exhibition-cum-sale.
For this annual event students prep up to present themselves and their unique style by whipping up a collection that will launch their label with a bang and translate their dream into reality. Students under the guidance of India’s celebrated designer Neeta Lulla, who is a fashion maestro and has dressed up most of the top tinsel town divas for few of their best movies, work towards building up a collection that defines their design aesthetics.
Hamstech, takes full responsibility of each and every student providing them with all the latest infrastructure, facilities and mentorship to put together their very first collection. But, before taking the students to their end consumer, Hamstech promises the students a fashion extravaganza. A fashion show, where in the best of the models walk the ramp wearing their collection.
This year, The HLabel Show, on the 3rd of October at The Park Somajiguda, was the most successful in Hamstech’s history. A total of 134 students who worked on 25 collections took over the ramp and won a name for themselves amidst the who’s who of Hyderabad. The designers were introduced to an audience of more than 5000, which included the cream of Hyderabad and prominent media persons from Radio Mirchi, Channel Gemini and Deccan Chronicles.
A judging panel with ace designers Shilpa Reddy and Vinita Pittie was put in place to ensure the right talent enjoyed the spotlight.
At the end of this talent based Fashion Show, the following collections were applauded and rewarded by the two esteemed judges.
The Best Collection Of The Year and The Most Glamorous Collection was bagged by collection NDESTBO.
The Fashion Show was followed by the much awaited annual exhibition-cum-sale, The HLabel Exhibition-cum-sale, on the 5th of October at The Park Somajiguda. The Exhibition opened doors to its patrons with a total of 26 stalls, ensure the attendees got their dose of fashion ahead of festivities. The exhibition saw a footfall of thousands of buyers who definitely were mesmerized with the exceptional work of the students and left the venue carrying a lot of bags.
With this show the designers not only experienced a rendezvous with consumers but also benefitted with the aligning commercial aspect.
At the exhibition, the Jewelery designers at Hamstech also got a chance to witness the grandeur of the Institute. The chic yet affordable jewelery pieces were accepted and appreciated by the crowd. The Best Jewelery Designer award was also handed out by famed jewelry designer Moni Aggarwal.
The patronage for the show has been growing leaps and bounds with every passing year. With this year’s success we can only wait for an even bigger shopping extravaganza put by the budding designers from Hamstech. This institute definitely believes in delivering the best.
